ENGINEERING FIELD SERVICES
Expertise That Spans the Globe
Very few if any businesses today can survive customer demands and competition without the proper performance and protection of their electrical equipment and systems.
Homewood has expanded its service support to address these increasing demands and risks associated with efficient and safe operations. We have added commissioning, electrical maintenance, site operations, repair and testing to our stable of "single source solutions" ... providing expert engineering service to either augment your in-house capability or function as an outsourced extension of your operating needs.
Regardless of how these services are contracted, they can become the appropriate ongoing resource to help optimize operating performance.
The number of countries in which we have worked is exceeded only by the variety of equipment we have installed, commissioned, serviced or repaired. Our highly skilled engineers and technicians can quickly diagnose and solve critical operational problems.
Our expertise encompasses the following electrical/mechanical equipment applications:
Power Generation
Gas and steam turbines, diesel alternator power generating systems, including boiler controls.
- Power Transmission & Distribution
Switchgear, transformers, protection systems and substations.
- Manufacturing
Process control systems in steel mills, onshore and offshore petrochemical operations, and osmosis desalinization plants.
Installation and Commissioning
Electrical Engineering & Field Service Verify Systems, Integrity and Safety
Homewood's competent engineers and technicians provide independent installation and acceptance and maintenance testing on all aspects of power distribution systems. Many clients use us on a scheduled basis to conduct Doble tests, turns ratios, oil samples, megger and high potential tests to verify systems performance, integrity and safety. We can operate as an unbiased testing authority, professionally independent of the manufacturers, suppliers, and installers of the equipment.
For new or expanded facility installation and start-up, acceptance testing of electrical power systems is a critical tool. Shipping and installation damage, field and factory wiring errors, manufacturing defects, systems and components not in accordance with drawings and specifications are among the many problems that can be detected by proper testing. By detecting defects before start- up, they can be corrected under warranty... eliminating safety risks, possible equipment failure and potential consequential damages associated with loss of production. Test results obtained during acceptance testing are invaluable as base reference data for periodic testing ... an essential element of an effective maintenance program.
